Ebru Metin is the founder and CEO of Legal Design Turkey, the first co-learning community and company for legal design in Turkey. In March 2021, just after five months after its establishment, Legal Design Turkey became one of the winners of the UNDP Social Innovation Support Programme out of 422 participants. As part of the prize, Legal Design Turkey obtained pilot support for their solution proposal from UNDP Turkey Acceleration Lab. Currently Ebru and her team works on an information design project about violence against women.
Ebru was recently appointed as the director of Istanbul Bilgi University Legal Design Lab. Prior to this, she held several positions as an in-house lawyer, contract manager, corporate governance specialist and data protection compliance program coordinator in various organisations located in Turkey, United Kingdom and Spain. She has pursued her Masters in International Financial Law at King’s College London as a Jean Monnet Scholar in 2014.
Besides legal design, she focuses on legal technology, technology transfer and contract management. She is acting as European Legal Technology Association’s Ambassador for Turkey and Secretary General of Innovation in Law Studies Alliance. She is a member of Global Legal Tech Consortium, ASTP and Turkish Women International Network. She has been given the “Advanced Practitioner” title at World Commerce and Contracting in 2020.
