Ioan Șumandea-Simionescu is an associated teacher at the Faculty of Law at Babeș-Bolyai University and a member of the Center for Company Law & Corporate Governance (UBB). Ioan is currently Expert Legal Advisor for Corporate Governance within Banca Transilvania S.A. He is also Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Romanian Investor Relations Association (ARIR), handling its activity on capital market regulation and corporate governance.
Ioan has significant practical experience in the field of corporate governance in the financial and capital market sectors. Also, Ioan has vast legal experience in the field of banking law, commercial law and capital market law, participating and providing legal support in numerous projects within Banca Transilvania Financial Group, both in Romania and abroad.
Ioan hold an LL.B., LL.M. and Ph.D. from the Babeș-Bolyai University (UBB) Law School, has studied at the University of East Anglia (UEA) Law School and was a Visiting Scholar at Queen Mary University of London (QMUL) Law School.
He has been a speaker in numerous conferences both in Romania and abroad, on topics such as corporate governance, law and economics, digitalization of corporate structures, capital markets and banking law.
